Econnect is currently 100% owned by the employees of the business.
The majority shareholders are directors in the business, recruited from both inside and outside the renewable energy industry, ensuring a wealth of commercial and engineering knowledge.
All employees have the opportunity to participate in the ownership of the business and to share directly in its success via an EMI share options incentive scheme.
The Econnect Group has reported profits in each of its twelve years to date with the profits reinvested in the business. Econnect was self financing until 2005 when it secured a first mezzanine debt loan from Northern Enterprise Ltd. to fund increased growth.
Since its formation in 1995, the business grew at 35% each year and in recent years at 60%. Investment into this rapidly growing business remains an important enabler for our continued expansion and exploitation of the knowledge, skills, expertise and brand.
