Renewable Energy Experts Move on Upwards

A specialist contractor to the renewables industry has grown so rapidly within its first 2 years of trading, that it has already been forced to move into new premises.

Econnect Construction Ltd will occupy purpose-built premises opposite the group’s main headquarters in Hexham, Northumberland – almost three times Construction’s original premises.

The new layout includes space for the construction specialist’s growing base of over 50 engineers and staff, storage space for vital pieces of equipment and a workshop allowing engineers to work on apparatus under cover.

There will also be conference facilities, reception area, locker rooms and shower facilities.

The move is a major step for the business which grew out of Econnect Group’s stable in 2005 to become a major player in the contracting industry.

Managing Director of Econnect Construction, Paul Glendinning is delighted with the company’s move:

Paul said “We have grown substantially in just 2 years and desperately needed to branch out into our own building.

“The new premises are ideal and with dedicated storage facilities we can now hold spare parts, allowing us to respond to clients’ needs without having to wait while orders are delivered. This will be especially important to our O&M business.”

The company has grown in turnover from £383,000 to £6.5m in just 2 years - great news for the UK renewables industry and great news for Econnect Construction.

Paul added: “Econnect Construction is hiring some of the best in the industry right now, so we have a responsibility to offer the best in return and this starts as soon as you walk in through our door.”
