Scottish Wind Farm Officially Opened

The Craig Wind Farm near Langholm in Scotland was opened on Thursday.

Guy Nicholson Econnect CEO attended the ceremony hosted by landowner Neil Ewart, who has been working on developing the project for over 10 years.

The windfarm comprises 4 Nordex N80 2.5MW turbines.

Econnect has played several pivotal roles in the project from negotiating the grid connection to an achievable price, relocating the substation to reduce costs and constructing the project as balance of plant contractor.

The energisation of the project is expected in the coming weeks once the distribution network operator has completed the connection between Langholm 33/11kV substation and the windfarms site substation.
