Project Scope:  

One of the biggest wind farm developments in the southern hemisphere. Advising on all three stages of this major wind energy project, involving an initial 30MW wind farm, 220/66kV substation and eventually sufficient energy to power 125,00 homes pa.

Econnect's services have included:

  • Preparation invitation to Tender specifications and management of tender process for the 220kV/66kV substation
  • Detailed review of tender submissions and recommendations for preferred Tenderer
  • Preparation and negotiation of Connection Agreement technical access standards
  • Static power system studies to evaluate load flows, fault level and power quality analysis, line conductor sizes and transformer tap settings
  • Budget cost estimates for the wind farm electrical balance of plant
  • Preliminary Design Capacitors/SVC - Market survey of available technologies and budget costing
